R.E.D. is an acronym that stands for Remember Everyone Deployed.
R.E.D. Friday was created to keep focus on those wars that are still going on and those military members who are still fighting overseas.
The premise is people wear red every Friday as a reminder to pray for and support troops abroad.
Some say this concept came shortly after 9/11 with its surge of patriotism, others attribute it to an email chain letter being passed around in 2005 or a Canadian rally in 2006.
No matter the origin, the importance is not lost on Central Kansas Veteran Community Partnership. We will continue to support those who are deployed, especially on Fridays.
